Job Description Job Description Position Overview The Domestic
Freight Forwarding Coordinator is responsible for managing
end-to-end domestic freight forwarding operations, ensuring
shipments move efficiently, compliantly, and on schedule. This role
oversees the full shipment lifecycle—from booking and documentation
to carrier coordination and customer communication. It is well
suited for logistics professionals with prior domestic forwarding
experience who are looking to expand their operational expertise
and take on increased responsibility within a fast-paced
environment. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary escalation
point for shipment tracking, tracing, and issue resolution
Coordinate and manage domestic freight movements, including air
freight, domestic ocean freight, LTL, FTL, expedited trucking, and
intermodal shipments Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers
in alignment with customer requirements and service-level
expectations Monitor shipments in transit, provide proactive status
updates, and resolve delays or service disruptions Prepare and
manage transportation documentation, including MAWBs, HAWBs, and
Bills of Lading, with a high degree of accuracy Ensure compliance
with DOT regulations, safety standards, and internal operating
procedures Serve as a main point of contact for customers regarding
shipment status, scheduling, and service inquiries Communicate
clearly and professionally via phone and email to address issues
and maintain service quality Investigate and manage freight claims
related to damage, loss, or delay, working directly with carriers
to reach resolution Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment data
within the transportation management system Collaborate with
internal teams such as dispatch, warehouse, and billing to ensure
smooth operations Review and validate carrier invoices against
contracted rates and assist in resolving billing discrepancies
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance
operational efficiency and service performance Education &
Experience Requirements Minimum of 2 years of domestic freight
forwarding experience (required) Proven experience managing
end-to-end shipment lifecycles Demonstrated knowledge of dangerous
goods handling in compliance with 49 CFR regulations Experience
working with bonded cargo, bonded warehouses, or customs-bonded
processes Ability to coordinate effectively with carriers, vendors,
and internal stakeholders Qualifications & Skills Strong customer
service and relationship management skills Exceptional attention to
detail and organizational ability Effective problem-solving and
decision-making skills Strong verbal communication and active
listening abilities Professional telephone and email etiquette
Proficiency with basic software applications, including Microsoft
Office and transportation management systems General computer
proficiency Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended
periods while working at a computer Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
occasionally Work Authorization & Screening Requirements Must be
authorized to work in the United States Must successfully pass
required background and TSA eligibility screenings Employment
