Job Summary:The Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) System Test Engineer will be involved from the beginning of the development life cycle to build test cases that assure SW and HW issues are surfaced early in the design process.The Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) System Test Engineer is expected to demonstrate working expertise in test specification design and execution, and debugging for embedded systems, have experience in software verification projects, and delivering production software releases.The Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) System Test Engineer will be involved in development efforts for each release of the embedded software.You will join an enthusiastic team to deliver high-quality, robust software through collaboration and testing.Primary Responsibilities:Perform test development and test execution throughout product lifecycleParticipate in the design and validation of features from initial requirements through field deploymentCreate test cases and build automation tools for feature release and performance testingCollaborate with development team to define use cases and test coverageLead bug/defect tracking and reporting activitiesManage test activities to support project schedules / milestonesSupport in field testing as neededAssist development engineers in design of experiments, lab test setup, and executionEstablish and continuously develop the HiL Environment to support an increasingly complicated DUT.Additional Support ResponsibilitiesWork with the Marketing & Sales team to define and implement software solutions supporting BMS product roadmaps; provide input such as testing cost, timing and feasibility estimatesWork with Program Managers to rigorously enforce Change Management discipline after Design Freeze to ensure BMS software reflects and complies with the appropriate revision levels of the product specifications.Drive fast and thorough problem resolution through use of team-oriented problem solving tools, including 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why, Is-IsNot techniques.Position Qualifications:B.S. in one of the following:Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Controls Engineering.Three years of progressive experience as Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer or related industry experience conducting functional, regression, and, user acceptance testing in Hardware in the Loop (HIL) test environment.At least 2 years experience creating MATLAB and Simulink plant models.Key Competencies:Experience in testing embedded systems in an automated HIL type of environmentFluency with at least 1 scripting language such as Perl, Python, or Linux scripting languageExperience in C, C++, MatLab and Simulink code and code generation toolsProficient in software and hardware measurement and analysisUnderstanding of real time processing systems and common issuesDiligent documentation keeping skillsSelf-driven and adaptive personality, performing as both project leader and individual contributor as the situation dictatesExperience with lab setup, establishing of test lab equipment and processesExperience with CAN/LIN communication networks and Vector toolsQA experience with embedded SW solutions, compliant with CMMI and/or Automotive SPICEExperience with Rapid Prototyping systems, such as dSPACE, etc.Basic understanding of PCB schematics.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePointBuilds safety, quality and compliance into all actions; committed to continuous learning and self-improvementWillingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support on site customer testing, debug, or sales/proposal activitiesUnderstanding of basic Hardware DebuggingExperience with building test harnesses (Wiring Harnesses) and basic electrical circuits
