to join our Storage team. In this role, you will lead and expand a
talented team building cutting edge Storage Management and
optimization technologies like automated expiry and tiering, and
storage integrations. You'll drive innovation, foster collaboration
across Snowflake's diverse teams, and guarantee delivery of robust
and scalable solutions for our global enterprise clients.
You will play a critical role in the growth and success of
Snowflake's business as we redefine the future of data management
at scale.
As an Engineering Manager in the Storage team, you'll need a solid
foundation in distributed systems and proven experience in leading
and developing high-performing engineering teams. The ideal

data domains, we'd love to hear from you!AS AN ENGINEERING MANAGER
AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:
- Empower a team of exceptional engineers to design, develop, and
support highly distributed and scalable data platforms, with a
focus on optimizing storage systems for seamless customer
experiences.
- Directly influence team growth and development through
strategic recruiting, hiring, mentorship, coaching, and by
identifying opportunities for advancement.
- Champion the success and growth of your team members,
conducting regular one-on-ones and team meetings to provide
unwavering support and facilitate career progression.
- Utilize your strong coding and design skills to guide engineers
and actively participate in technical tasks as needed (IC1-4
level).
- Collaborate closely with TPM, PM, and other teams on quarterly
planning and project tracking, ensuring optimal workflow and
exceptional delivery.
- Contribute to the team's vision and roadmap, managing critical
initiatives with clear, tactical goals over 12-18 months.
- Lead incident response for customer escalations, production
issues, and security incidents, driving thorough postmortems and
implementing effective resolutions.
- Catalyze new projects and manage high-impact initiatives on
both the platform and services sides, making a significant
contribution to Snowflake's strategic objectives.
OUR IDEAL ENGINEERING MANAGER WILL HAVE:
- Management Experience: 2+ years of leadership experience in a
technical environment. Proven success in recruiting, mentoring, and
developing top-tier engineering talent.
- Technical Skills: 7+ years of industry experience designing and
building distributed data systems, especially with focus on
distributed persistent systems. Strong coding and design expertise,
with hands-on experience in software engineering.
- Leadership Qualities: Approachable, supportive, and highly
collaborative. Exhibits exceptional emotional intelligence and
actively uplifts team members.
- Tactical and Strategic Project Planning: Ability to effectively
plan, track, and manage technical projects with substantial
business impact. Know when and how to shift resources across areas
to achieve execution goals, while also ensuring effective ownership
and longer-term alignment of work and skills.
- Innovation: Potential to grow into roles requiring incubation
of projects or managing core, high-impact projects. Proven
experience with authoring roadmap documents, project plans and
RCAs.
- Ability to work on-site in our Bellevue, WA office.Every

expected range of compensation for this role:
- The estimated base salary range for this role is $222,000 -
$339,200.
- Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in
Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.The successful candidate's
starting salary will be determined based on permissible,
non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and
geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive
package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and
disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending &
health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off;
