Job Description:
The RNFA is a perioperative RN collaborating with surgeons and
healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities include managing surgical patient care using the
nursing process, maintaining sterile fields, monitoring equipment,
performing counts, administering medications, and ensuring safety
protocols. The role involves patient and family education, proper
patient positioning, sterilization, specimen handling, inventory
management, and supporting the surgical team with instruments and
tissue handling. RNFA practices at the surgeon--------s direction
during procedures, without functioning as a scrub nurse
concurrently. Qualifications include completion of an approved RNFA
program per AORN standards, at least 5 years of OR experience,
current RN license, BLS, ACLS, and CRNFA certification. This is a
full-time position requiring flexibility and adherence to safety
and ethical standards.
