Ideal candidate will have experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a surgical practice and be able to represent the practice and display a high level of professionalism at all times, building positive relationships throughout the hospital and clinics. Practice highlights A collegial team of 3 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, 3 PA-Cs (including this position), 2 RNs and support staff with 40 total Cardiac providers. Assists at surgery as a first or second assistant to a primary cardiothoracic surgeon in 1 of 2 dedicated Cardiac OR’s or our Hybrid OR. Rounds in the ICU and/or CVU, monitoring, assessing and treating patients. The PA will see cardiothoracic patients pre- and post-operatively, both in the clinic and in the hospitalwith ~70% of their time providing inpatient services. Assists at surgery as a first or second assistant to a primary cardiothoracic surgeon in 1 of 2 dedicated Cardiac OR’s or our Hybrid OR. Rounds in the ICU and/or CVU, monitoring, assessing and treating patients. Team-based patient care with providers and hospital staff. Longer hours and taking minimal call (1:3) will be required due to patient need with Physician backup available. Procedures include: Suturing, Harvest Vein Conduit, Exposure of vessels, wound closure and debridement, management of surgical drains, chest tubes and lines Compensation highlights include: - Comprehensive benefits - Employment bonus - Relocation bonus The qualifications include a Washington State Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license or ability to obtain; new graduate or experienced candidates with a high interest in joining a surgical cardiothoracic practice will be considered. The successful candidate will develop proficiency in performing tie sutures, harvest vein conduit, exposure of vessels, wound closure, wound debridement, and management of surgical drains and chest tubes and lines. Development and training will be provided by two established and experienced PeaceHealth CT Surgery PA’s. Compensation is based on experience and will be between $70.63 - $88.12. This position is represented by a Union.
