Assembler I - Night Shift Reports To: Production Unit Leader FLSA Status: Non- Exempt Internal Title: Assembler 1 Date Revised: September 2017 Scope: Americas Location: GT Development Department: Direct Labor (DL100) HR Approval: Tammy Lake Summary Under direct supervision, performs any combination of the following repetitive tasks on assembly line to mass produce small products. Frequently works at bench as member of assembly group assembling one or two specific parts and passing unit to another worker. May be assigned to different work stations as production needs require or shift from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Bolts, clips, nails, rivets, screws, solders, or otherwise fastens component parts of assembly together, using hand tools, power tools, or bench machines. Positions, fits, or aligns parts on workbench, floor, or machine, following blueprints, diagrams, guides, holes, reference marks, or work orders. Loads and unloads previously setup machines, such as arbor presses, drill presses, taps to perform fastening, force fitting or light metal-cutting operation on assembly line. Holds parts during assembly, using hands, clamps, pneumatic screw presses, or other work aides. Reads process charts, work orders, blueprints, or other specifications to determine assembly sequence, machine and tooling requirements, measurements, and tolerances. Inspects, tests, and verifies accuracy of assembled article for conformance to standards, using measuring or testing equipment, or by visual examination. Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective product parts, using hand tools. Cleans dust, dirt, oil, and other foreign matter from material, machine surfaces and facilities, using cleaning solution, rag, air hose or other cleaning tools. Stamps, labels, or otherwise marks product or packages with identifying data. Qualifications Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED, or the equivalent preferred. One year experience in similar industry preferred Skills and Competencies Must be able to function in a cross-functional team environment. Experience with basic measuring tools preferred. Ability to reference and comprehend technical drawings. Ability to understand, read and follow written & verbal directions in English as related to the workplace including on work related documents. Able to communicate in English with others both verbally and in writing as indicated by the needs of the position. Computers and Technology Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) Certifications None Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
