Location: Renton, WA

Compensation: $21.60/hr

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 7:30am - 4:00pm Pacific Time

The Role:

As a Laboratory Analyst 2, you play a key role in performing a variety of moderate and waived testing to include screening toxicology drug analysis, in a clinic or laboratory setting. Additional responsibilities include:

Analyzes patient specimens by performing and verifying diagnostic medical laboratory tests and following department protocols.
Makes independent decisions relating to patient testing and prioritization of testing.
Processes, packages, and ships specimens to be transported to the main laboratory for further testing.
Performs and reports quality control on all instrumentation before reporting test results following established quality control policies and procedures.
Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on a variety of instruments and equipment and documents appropriately.
Verifies all normal and abnormal results, correlates abnormal test results with other patient data, seeks pathologist or manager consultation if necessary, and notifies appropriate medical staff of test results.
Maintains patients' medical records and verifies accuracy.
Assists in ordering laboratory supplies and necessities to maintain appropriate level of inventory.
Performs and reports routine and STAT laboratory tests of moderate complexity.
Complies with national PHI laws including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Maintains continual sustained attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

Associate or bachelor's degree in science with at least 24 semester hours in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science or a combination.
Attention to detail, specimen processing, immunoassay instrumentation.

Preferred

1 year experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
